Rebecca & Nico Wedding Photography at the Pageant Registry Office Warwick, Warwickshire

Wedding-Photography-Warwickshire014

I have covered many weddings at the Pageant House in Warwick, it's a nice little venue that is ideally located in the Historic part of Warwick with the Castle in the background and the surrounding lanes which are all perfect for natural wedding photography. I am a big fan of capturing the flow and emotion of the wedding day, formal photographs do have their place as a record of the people that attended with natural shots they really do capture the feel of the day.

Rebecca & Nico got married on the first Saturday of the May bank holiday which was very sunny, it was almost a miracle considering that the previous week it had been was freezing cold, everybody was commenting on how lucky they were.

Like a lot of the weddings I cover at Pageant House this one was quite small with only a few guests of close friends and family, Rebecca and Nico also both arrived together to set the tone for a relaxed wedding, that was a close family affair with a few readings and then we left the ceremony room into the garden which was in full bloom of tulips.

They were some sporadic confetti throwing and lots of opportunities to capture their guests congratulating and enjoying the day, whilst I took some documentary style wedding photography of the group celebrating.  We then did some formal groups as requested before the guests enjoyed some chilled Prosecco and then with the last fifteen minutes of my time we did some couple portraits in the surrounding lanes.

This was a two-hour booking which is ideal for small weddings, the following is a small sample of the 320 finished images delivered to Rebecca and Nico.

Wedding Photographer Warwickshire | James and Carly

Wedding Photographer Warwick

On Saturday 7th April I had a lovely day as the wedding photographer for the wedding of James and Carly who got married at the Pageant House in Warwick.

The day was split over many venues, for me, it started at the Warwick Arms Hotel, where Carly and her sister were staying to prepare for the wedding day ahead.

I arrived and photographed some candid images in the room and in the hotel reception area before we headed off to the Pageant House for the ceremony which is a short walk away.

I have photographed many weddings at the Pageant House it is a lovely venue for small weddings, with a nice exit into the gardens. Once we arrived at Pageant House, I met up with James who was looking very nervous but he managed to keep it together.  The ceremony was very emotional as usual with most weddings but its always nice to see a couple tie the knot and to capture the mood of the day.

After the ceremony, we headed out into the pageant gardens, where I concentrated on taking relaxed photos and then we did some family groupings for the formal photographs. I think it's important not to rush the photography and allow everybody some time to congratulate the happy couple and relax after the ceremony.

The next part of the day was afternoon tea held at Jambavan Restaurant that is just opposite the gardens. Here afternoon teas and cakes had been arranged in the upstairs area of the restaurant.

This particular weekend in Warwick was a busy one with the National Town Crier Championships also taking place in the gardens of the registry office who thankfully wasn't around when the wedding ceremony finished but had returned to the gardens just in time for the end of the afternoon tea. Naturally, this was a photo opportunity too good to miss.

After this, James, Carly and their son Charlie and I headed to the Mill Gardens for some relaxed wedding portraits. The walk to the Mill Garden is almost as attractive as the gardens themselves, I grew up in Warwick but I am still intrigued by its hidden alleys and historic architecture.

The Mill Garden was as usual stunning, the river, the ruined bridge and the Castle is just a fantastic setting and of course of the lovely plants and flowers.

After the gardens, James and Carly and I had a break from the wedding photography for a few hours and I met up with them again at the Sports Connexion near Ryton on Dunsmore. Where the plan was to spend a few hours photographing casual groups, the cutting of the cake and the first dance.

It was a great day, that I very much enjoyed. The weather forecast was heavy rain and it held off, the town criers where a bonus and it was great to do a wedding in Warwick Town.

Apologies that the images are showing in reverse order in the gallery below, unfortunately, I cannot figure out why this is happening!

Headshot Photographer in Warwickshire & West Midlands

We are a local established headshot photographer in Warwickshire, our studio is located at 1 Market Place in Warwick town centre this position is ideal to serve Warwickshire for location shoots or for studio visits.

Over the winter we have provided headshots for the staff of a number local and national companies, our service is not just restricted to headshots in our studio or on location.  We can also provide all aspects of corporate photography to a very high standard from people at work images, interior and exterior photography including aerial photography and product photography.

In December we provided headshots for sixteen solicitors who were visiting a local hotel the Stratford Manor for their annual conference, we were able to bring our studio and backdrops with us and set up in a quiet room away from the rest of the conference to take each business portrait one by one.  I always think it is important to have a private area where people can relax to have their portraits taken away from an audience.   Almost every person I meet when taking headshot portraits complains that they do not like having their picture taken which is why it is so important to make every effort for them to relax.

In January we visited a medium sized company based in Stratford-upon-Avon to provide headshots for around 20 staff as well people at work images and some interior and exterior photographs.  The company wanted updated headshots of key sales staff but also some casual images of staff members doing work tasks in and around the premises, plus we had also agreed to provide of aerial photographs of the offices but due to the time of year it was decided to use a ground-level image that I enhanced to remove unsightly lamposts and add in a blue sky because it was a very grey day when I visited.

In March we provided headshots for twelve directors who were visiting the area for a board meeting again we agreed on a look to the images in advance I then took my studio on location finding a quiet area in the hotel to set up and take the portraits. Also in March, I photographed a number of headshots for a local company who decided to send staff to my studio to be photographed on an ad-hoc basis rather than hire me to visit them, this is an ideal solution for companies that have a staff that work remotely to varying schedules that are often difficult to assemble on one day.

Another recent job was to provide a headshots location visit for a media company based in Stratford-upon-Avon, for these images I went for a more relaxed style to suit the relaxed culture of the company.

Our aim is to provide varied headshot portraits to suit the culture of the business, we offer competitive quotes and are equally happy to work on location, be it a hotel for a conference or offices or here at our studio in Warwick, Warwickshire.  Please contact us for a competitive quote.

Stephen and Katy Wedding Photography at the Henley Room Registry Office Stratford-upon-Avon

wedding_photography_henley_room_stratford01

On the 9th December, I provided wedding photography at the new Henley Room Registry Office in Stratford-upon-Avon.  I have done lots of weddings at the old Winton House Venue in Stratford and although Winton House was on a quieter street the interior of the new venue at Henley Room is much brighter and better decorated.

The only downside to the new venue is when the Market is on like it was when I was there, there is no room to spill out of the venue onto the street as the market stalls are in the way.

On the day itself, it was a very bright sunny but cold day, Stephen and Katy had only booked me for an hour just to cover service and for some photos afterwards, my time with them was brief but I still managed to capture 198 images for them to keep of the ceremony pictures afterwards.

It was very cold on the day so instead of heading down to the Bancroft Gardens for some photos we stayed around the venue, the Henley Rooms don’t have any gardens but there is a small patch of ground next to the Shakespeare Birthplace that we used for photos until the security guard told us to move.

It was nice little wedding and congratulations to Stephen and Katy.

Commercial and Product Photographer for Businesses

Commercial and Product Photographer for Businesses

A recent project was to provide product photography for a Warwick based business who required a product photographer to create product images for a new website that is being developed for their company.

The business is a manufacturer of bespoke plastic and 3D printed parts used in the automotive industry and although the parts are fitted on some very glamorous vehicles. The parts themselves are just lumps of plastic to the untrained eye apart from an iconic radiator grill that most people would recognise!

The aim of the project was to make the parts look interesting to look at, going further than standard high-resolution white background product photography, although there are some white backgrounds for the large parts I used the available backgrounds in the factory.

I decided to add coloured light to the background of the images to create a bit more depth and definition. The logo for this company is blue so we decided to use a blue light, I can actually create any lighting effect on demand.

I have often used gels which is the process of adding filters to colour light, a common use is to colour the background of head shot portraits but I have never used them in product photography.

Due to the quantity of parts to be photographed I set up my equipment on location in the companies warehouse, this approach often makes sense because the products don't have to be moved, the business personnel are on hand to review how the work in progressing and it just makes it easier for everyone. When doing this type of work or any job really its makes sense to fit into others plans.

After all the product photography was completed, I did some people at work images and general images of the building and staff on site.

Photographing Portraits of Trustee's The King Henry VIII Endowed Trust in Warwick

Henry8thTrustees-3-of-47

The King Henry VIII Endowed Trust founded in 1545 is an ancient trust that shares the income from the Old Town of Warwick to help the community. For hundreds of years it has been contributing to the upkeep of our churches and enabled our best and brightest to attend Warwicks public schools. In September I was asked to Business Portraits of the Trustees to be used for a new website that is still under development.  I was honoured to be asked to do this work, as usual with all portraits I have done for all types of organisations I had very little time allowed with each person to get the job done.

I decided to go with a low key style lighting set up that created portraits that are a bit more interesting than standard white background portraits.

Family Portrait Photographer Warwickshire

This is a recent advert created for us by the Express Advertiser. I don't often if ever blog about Family Photoshoots because I believe that these portraits are private to the family involved. Weddings are very open and public events which is why I blog about these more often.   I have permission to use the pictures shown, we offer family portraits for £35.00 for a sitting including a 10x8" print. Also on our portrait photography page, we have lots of other options for packages and gift vouchers. We also do lots of business portraits and pet portraits.

Wedding Photography Engagement Shoot

2A4A0644

Last week I met up with Sally and Steve for their pre-wedding engagement shoot, they are getting married at Malory Court Hotel next spring.  When Sally and Steve booked me for their wedding photography we discussed locations for the engagement shoot Sally suggested including her horse Molly.  I have done a few bits of work over the years involving horses and I am always keen to try anything.  We set a date and a place and naturally, for October the weather was absolutely awful, very high winds and drizzle on the day.

I don't mind getting wet as long as we get the portraits and because Sally and Steve are outdoor types they weren't bothered either, when the rain really came down we headed for the barn and when it stopped we headed out into the fields.  These are my favourite images out of a set of nearly eighty images.

Wedding Photography @ Pageant House Warwick and Saxon Mill

Wedding Photography at the Pageant House and The Saxon Mill

On the 24th July, we covered the wedding photography of Naomi and Simon at the Pageant House Registry Office in Warwick and then onto the Saxon Mill Pub for the reception. I have covered lots of weddings at the Pageant House, out of all the Warwickshire Registry Offices it is one of the nicest especially because of the gardens at the back. The gardens were opened in 1908 and were the first public gardens in Warwick. The gardens were brought from the proceeds of the Warwick Pageant of 1906 and the name Pageant House is because the costumes for 1906 Pageant were made there.

The wedding day was lovely another small family wedding on a sunny day in July, after the ceremony and some family pictures in the Pageant House garden we headed to the Saxon Mill for a few more photos of the cutting of the cake and portraits of Simon and Naomi.

Headshot and Product Photography

006

Here are some images from a recent project to capture some relaxed headshots of the owner of a Warwickshire business Empress Ale and also provide some Product Photography for use for an article in a magazine.  The client wanted some relaxed shots that were stylish and different from the normal standard headshots, for this I devised a more subtle lighting that complemented the clients clothing and the style he required for the article.
