Photo Framing and Photo Restoration Project

From January to summer 2021 we completed two projects for King’s High School for Girls in Warwick. The first was to scan and restore portraits of previous headmistresses from the schools’ establishment to the present day to be reproduced as A2 framed prints with name plates underneath.

It was a challenging photo restoration project due to some of the oldest images being were only a few centimetres across and in very poor condition, which had to be enlarged. I was able to scan these images and then upscale and restore them using computer software.

The second project was to source suitable images for the schools’ changemaker gallery to be displayed in the school entrance hall. Again, this was a challenging project because some source material was again of poor resolution, but again using our extensive knowledge of digital enhancement we were able to upscale the images ready for high resolution printing.

The finished galleries can be seen within the entrance hall of the school. Here is a selection of photos taken by me for the official opening of the gallery by the Lord Lieutenant of Warwickshire Lady Susan Saunders JP DL
