Photo Album Scanning Service

This week we had the pleasure of providing a photo scanning service for a collection of seventeen family photo albums, helping preserve cherished memories and saving the family time compared with DIY scanning after a recent loss.

I was asked to provide a professional photo scanning service for a customer's old photos, offering the advantages of a specialist service over DIY methods while keeping the emphasis on careful handling. Discretion and care were a priority throughout, ensuring the original photos were handled gently so the family could access and review the images in time for a slide show at the wake. The scanned photos were delivered as digital files into an online gallery for easy access and downloading and to allowing sharing with family members.

All seventeen albums were scanned in a careful, ordered fashion — a fuss free process that helps protect photographs from fading and deterioration over time, while also freeing up the space otherwise taken by physical photo albums or boxes.

Each print was dusted and scanned at 600 dpi, with 1200 dpi available where extra detail is needed, then arranged in a digital gallery following the original album order and chronological date order for each album.

For more information on how we can help preserve your family's history, our photo digitisation service can also digitise photos, slides, and negatives.
