Warwick Wedding Photographer | Daniel & Wendy at St Mary’s Church and Ettington Park Hotel

confetti at Ettington Park Hotel

On Saturday 9th August, I had the pleasure of photographing Daniel and Wendy’s beautiful St Mary’s Church Warwick wedding, followed by a reception at Ettington Park Hotel in south Warwickshire.

It was a gloriously sunny day — perfect conditions for a classic English summer wedding.

St Mary’s Church, Warwick

My day began outside St Mary’s Church, capturing guests as they arrived and greeting Daniel and his groomsmen for some relaxed, candid photographs. St Mary’s is a magnificent church and offers wonderful architectural detail both inside and out.

Wendy arrived in a classic Bugatti sports car, generously provided by one of the guests — a truly memorable entrance. She looked stunning in her wedding dress, elegant and timeless against the historic backdrop of the church.

One of the great advantages of St Mary’s for wedding photography is the incredible natural light. The large windows flood the nave with soft, directional light, creating beautiful conditions for capturing the ceremony.

At the conclusion of the vows, Daniel and Wendy made their exit together down the aisle to Toccata from Symphony No. 5 by Charles-Marie Widor. The powerful organ filled the church with sound, creating a majestic and dramatic recessional that perfectly matched the scale of the building.

After processing to the back of the church, they paused to one side while guests made their way outside. This gave us a brief window to create portraits in the chancel and sanctuary — classic, composed images that suited the grandeur of the church interior.

Once everyone had gathered in the churchyard, we moved into family photographs before guests departed for Ettington Park.

Ettington Park Hotel Reception

At Ettington Park Hotel, a grand Neo-Gothic country house set in beautiful Warwickshire countryside, the main confetti moment had been carefully planned.

The Bugatti pulled up at the start of the driveway, and Daniel and Wendy stepped out to be greeted by their guests, who were arranged in two long lines forming a corridor of colour. As they walked forward together, they were showered in confetti — a celebratory, high-energy moment made even better by the perfect summer light.

The drinks reception followed on the lawn, where I captured natural candid interactions alongside formal group photographs, including a full-wedding group shot. We then took advantage of the impressive grounds for relaxed couple portraits, using the dramatic architecture and landscaped gardens as a backdrop.

Guests were then called inside for the wedding breakfast, which occupied the hotel’s main restaurant rooms and created an impressive setting for the meal and speeches. The speeches were warm, humorous, and heartfelt — always one of the most memorable parts of any wedding day.

As evening approached, we stepped outside briefly for additional portraits in the softer light before sunset gave way to a calm, moonlit sky. The celebrations continued with the first dance, followed by a father-of-the-bride dance and the cutting of the cake, before the party carried on into the night.

For this wedding, I also filmed the ceremony and speeches, allowing Daniel and Wendy to relive those key moments alongside their photographs — preserving not just how the day looked, but how it sounded and felt.

Daniel and Wendy’s wedding was a wonderful combination of tradition, elegance and celebration — from the grandeur of St Mary’s Church to the dramatic setting of Ettington Park. A perfect Warwickshire wedding from start to finish.

If you are planning your own wedding at St Mary’s Church in Warwick or a reception at Ettington Park Hotel, I would be delighted to hear about your plans.
